Cosmetic Reconditioning

Reconditioning is an affordable alternative to replacement. A variety of chemicals and techniques are used to reduce the visibility of oxidation, scratches, stains, and other signs of wear. The goal is to produce an as close to new appearance as possible.

Reconditioning processes differ according to the contaminant and surface type.

Leather Reconditioning

Leather surfaces must be taken care of to prevent damage. In addition to regular cleaning, leather should be routinely conditioned before it becomes tough and eventually wears.

When leather wears, it will require reconditioning and repair. Evocative Detailing was able to greatly improve the appearance of this leather steering wheel. With a protective coating applied, the owner can enjoy many years of use without further deterioration.

Reconditioning of Fabric and Carpets

Fabric seats, carpets, and headliners can get stained. When this happens, please don't wait. The sooner we can address the stain, the better.

Depending on the source of the stain and location, we have specific chemicals and techniques to try and remove it without "locking in" the stain by using the wrong chemical or discoloring the surrounding area.

Paint Correction

The most common type of cosmetic reconditioning and what many people think of when contacting a detailer. Yes, polishing is involved, but paint correction can also be a muti-step process that involves cutting and finishing.

Detailers carefully select the appropriate chemicals, tools, and techniques depending on the paint type, condition, and desired outcome. After removing embedded paint contaminants, microscopic layers of the damaged surface are mechanically removed. The goal is to remove just enough.
